Okay, first off: you're right, Bria, and My BIG point I really HAVE to get off my *** When presented with adversity (wrong flag) *** >>> R O L E P L A Y I T ! ! ! <<< Put it in your role if you like, play it up Cyclone
I would urge you to think more about the
mostly silent masses who DO support you and
the work you do.
chest is: Hey, morons. Here's a new idea:
If an Arbiter screws you and flags you
without question or cause or whatever, it
will PROBABLY be a rare case, and Oh no, you
might lose your equipment. Cry. If that's
the case, why don't you Roleplay the bad
situation out and try to make it at least
fun that you got screwed? It shows a lot
more IC and OOC maturity than screaming
curses at the Arbiter and then writing notes
to the Immortals about it. Don't pray,
either. The law there is a mortal matter.
If an Arbiter goes nuts and starts doing
something like flagging everyone in his PK
range, obviously some Immortal will take
care of it. Oh, and roleplaying does not
include going to some remote corner of the
world to drop your gear so you can go get it
after the guards kill you. That's just a
weak way out. Dealing with adversity and
roleplaying it, making it part of your
character, is harder, and to me, deserves
more respect perhaps, than roleplaying your
successes. Remember, there's no money prize
for PK'ing, there's no salary for being in
Empire, (no matter WHAT Zulghinlour tells
you :)) so loosen up and play the character!
that you were slighted by the law and feel
martyred, but do it IC. Hey, even try to
rebel against the law with your lawful or
neutral ethos character who was wronged.
Try to quest for a chaotic ethos, do
SOMETHING other than unproductive, childish
whining that turns into some lifelong
grudge against Arbiter Immortals.
Oh, and I miss Arbiters dearly. Never even
played one- don't think my mind is NEARLY
ordered enough. :p But they add a great
dimension to the game, and their presence
DOES add a thrill to killing in town, you're
right. If you guys are making changes and
re-implementing them, then three MORE cheers
for you guys. Always love seeing new stuff
in the Fields. Honestly, it's like friggin'
Christmas morning when you log in and there's
just that little extra something in the
MOTD. And when a new Age begins? Fuggedaboutit.
Well, uh. I guess *I* might be excited about
stuff like that. Gee, you think?
