It's sad when my better judgement and wish for peace of mind is overridden by boredom and lack of sleep. I'm going to say two things, concerning two topics that just came up recently, then I'll try to shut up. I'll be short, I promise. First off, Knights. I don't think that it is an impossible that they would never come back. I think it might be damn HARD to bring them back, and that the immortals sure won't (I fear I might use a Challanism, but oh well) spoon feed them back into existence. It would likely take several dedicated individual mortals to bring about some sort of reinstatement. This is all wild speculation, I assure you. However, one point I would like to make, that might have been pointed out before, but I want to say it again. The idea of hardcoding "honor" into a reborn Knight cabal is so humorous as to be deathful. I'm not talking about ramifications of actually coding such a thing, though I'm guessing it wouldn't be an easy thing. No, I simply see it this way: if you have honor coded into the damn cabal, then you cease to have any point in the cabal. The whole idea is this group of people agree to follow a code on there own free will. To code something like that in, it would be the same as making it so if someone didn't commit a crime, they couldn't get flagged. You have to leave room for fuck ups, otherwise all is lost and nill. Or something to that effect. The other thing was druids. (no I don't want to say anything else about Arbiters) I love them. The idea, anyway. I sort of thought the idea that Entity had down the page was nifty, but I don't think druids need something like that done to them. The only thing I see about them that is rather vague and confusing is the whole herbal gathering business. Nice idea, but how the heck do you figure out the effects you are getting. The druid right now just gathers up some funky weeds and gulps them down like salted nuts. Why not have the gathering create an actual herb that would only stay in existence for about 2 ticks. Let the druid look at it, identify it, what have you...get an idea of what the deal is. It just seems odd that there exists a forest floor-to-mouth coding with that. Maybe some people can sort out through experimentation what the herb you just munched did for you, but I think most of us are in the dark here. Anyway, I'm going to go smack myself for posting an opinion here, and maybe come back and flame myself later. The GRC PS Of course, if druids suddenly could be come "Forces of Nature" or something like that old MtG card, I wouldn't bitch and moan. Whoooeeee! 8/8 tramplers! Yeeehaaaa! Ok, I'll go now.
