Hey I know I'm not perfect and I even might be just plain old lousy at CF. But I find it ridiculous that it is possible to be equipped with *level standard* stuff and be decimated in two rounds. I know the protocol as I've seen it played, is to loot the hell out of corpses like a vulture (which would never happen in a realistic scenario, the killer of the corpse would fight you off) or to get lucky at the pit - oh wait, the arbiter's are back, so you can't do that. Hmm, ok get in tight with the big guys who might give you level 51 stuff. Time consuming and not rp realistic. Now before you tell me to go track all this amazing stuff down on my own, I must say that I really don't have time to become an expert at the game. Oho! I can almost feel the flames. Before you start, let me say that I don't mind that I am usually a lowbie (I have never had a char over lvl 25). So what? I have fun and hope others do through my roleplay! And yes, I know this is a pk mud and that's fine. Hell even I get lucky once in awhile. The pisser is that I spend 80 percent of my time equipping, 19 percent perfecting all my friggin skills, and about 1 percent actually playing. I have found that if I and my opponent are duelling in the inn with similar equipment (like eq that's within 20 ranks of mine) I do well. But when they pull out a sword named "You are so FUCKING dead!" I might as well hang it up. Just remember we perpetual lowbies DO bring something to the game, I just was wondering if we could keep it from becoming a first-person shooter that's text-based. Boy, I suppose you guys will go nuts flaming this, well knock yourselves out. I will reply to valid points, however.
