Despite the best that imms can do to enforce name rules, some slip by. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; if you see a name that is in violation of the rules as asked at character creation, send up a short pray about it with a brief explanation as to why. Example from above: pray There is a character named Latrommi running around. Latrommi is Immortal spelled backwards. Example #2: pray Just to inform you, there is a thief named Pickett (pick-it), which seems lame for a thief. Now, doing this doesn't guarantee that something will be done about it, but it sure boosts the odds. It may be that a furious discussion ensues about whether or not a name is lame enough (Flamel, Pickett) to be denied or not, and the answer is 'no'. It may be that there's nobody around who is powerful enough to do anything about it. It may be that (gasp) there are no immortals around at all. Still and all, it can't hurt to try. Don't go nuts with this, pointing out every name that looks like it might, possibly, not be original; use some common sense. From the above example, Pickett and Flamel are "Maybes" -- judgement could go either way depending on who hears you. You could certainly tell a visible heroimm or avatar if you didn't feel like praying. Latrommi, however... if you see one that blatant walking around, it just means nobody noticed it yet, and pointing it out will likely have a the effect you're looking for. -- Stellyx Windstone (soon to have a nifty (IMM) tag.)
