Good question, back when I first starting playing (5 or so years ago?. My working knowledge of japanese was highly limited, and since I was playing a ninja (not an assassin, a ninja) I chose a name that I knew to be two japanese sounding 'pre/suf-fixes'...also one of my favorite characters back in the AD&D days was a thief named Sho'Kahn...but that looked tacky. I'd say within the last 2 years or so, I learned (much to my chagrin) that Shokai translated into 'first time' or 'introduction'. *shrug* These things happen, though it was fitting since Shokai was indeed my introduction to CF...on a similiar note, for those of you who remember Zadoc (the old god for Arbiter), I mentioned it to him at one point that Zadok is the Hebrew(yiddish?) word for 'justice'. Every now and then little coincidental things happen....and before anyone uses my name as a 'lame name' keep in mind, to axe 'Shokai' now, would cause a pretty big disruption to the game....now I'm off to go enjoy the rest of my birthday, hasta.
