Who says you have to stick with the same character for 500 hours?
If you think you've done all you can or want to do with that character
then delete him. I can't imagine playing the same character for as
long as grummore or attila. You could always take the approach most other
people do and come up with another idea for a character and just play the
hero for fun. It's not the best way, but if you want to keep your hero around
but are bored with him that might work. I've not had a character die from con
loss or old age so don't feel bad. I usually get bored with them long before
that.
