Yep.. I think most people would agree that Shinkuojinei is among the very best of mortals. I have also been impressed by the Scarab rank and file as well, with the exception of Fenwood, who was disgraced anyway. Cyradia's induction process is notoriously harsh, which probably helps. Plus, it has never a "bandwagon" cabal, since they are always fighting more enemies than any sane person would wish for. Scarab is second only to Troupe in overall average RP skill, although I find their choice of roles more interesting in general- just not as meticulously carried out.

Among the others I've interacted with, Khiravn is indeed quite good. Quinthen deserves all the praise he gets. Gharik is better than a lot of people seem to give him credit for, and the man has been willing to suffer some bad times. In general, Dawn/Maran seems to be attracting better people these days, and the higher ranks are not nearly as evil-dominated as they had been.

Battle continues to make me want to cry every time I talk to one. I've surprised they don't get more grief than they do. Maybe I've just met the "Me kill mage. Me have role of bad grammar." ones too often. That being said, Dhaevor seems to be on the right track, and hopefully he'll clean that place up.

Sylvan are always tough to categorize because they are few and undetectable. I've met some of their youngins, and several seem promising, though.

Arbiters look rough right now. They really do need to learn the Laws better, and screen their applicants more thoroughly. And Etherian needs to clean up his act, and figure out how to play a goodie lawman. I hear him talk, and I think of that log that Xairiel leads a group full of anti-paladins to hunt a criminal, sancting them all the way.

A challenge to the Cf community will be the Ehren Guard. The role is tougher than most people think, and I know it will attract a lot of newbies. Fighting with honor usually means fighting with a handicap, and most players don't have the restraint to do this consistently. Perhaps (!) I'm a cynic, but my experience has been that 90% of CFers will "look the other way" when they don't think anyone sees them. The Ehren Guard also didn't look very newbie-friendly from the note, especially the part where questions are discouraged, because the honorable "just know". Nonetheless, getting in on the ground floor of a new cabal is an incredible opportunity. If my current mortal wasn't so interesting to me, I'd be there in a second, trying desperately to get in. I hope someone makes it work.
