Okay fair enough at level one but I think at least by sixth level you should receive parry. Not some ungodly level like fourteen.
You can stick your sword there, but do you have the finesse and training to effectively parry an attack without getting disarmed or killed? Nah, you're too busy learning your spells and such to worry about your efforts in the realm of weapon use and self defense.
