I am not an imm, but here is what I think happened. Every time a request is made to the graveyard, the CF machine (the same one that runs the mud) answers the request. This takes up a small fraction of the system resources. Usually it would be no problem, the request should create virtually no lag. Now, imagine some malicious individual with an ounce of knowledge decides to use the graveyard script to lag CF. All they have to do is create another script to constantly make requests for this information(and maybe have several machines run it). That small fraction of system resources the graveyard uses can add up to some major lag.

I remember being on one day and it took me 15 minutes to get from Arkham to New Thalos. The lag was that bad the two times I tried to get on that day. The next day the graveyard was taken down...by Jullias I presume.

This is just my theory...
