Only way to make a skill go up is to use it.
That means if you want your defense up you
best fight a lot. Same for your weapons and
special skills. That's for fighting classes
of course. Mages get the pleasure of spamming
spell after spell until their mana's depleted
then sleeping and starting the cycle all over again.
Practicing isn't extremely fun, but I wouldn't
try a character without making sure the important
skills are well trained.
