I assume you've read the sidebar information first.

The acute-vision-like-thingy is useful when exploring, and if you know someone is near, but it is not "standard" acute vision, as a lot of people seem to think. ("Is Ranger-X in the realms?")

Alignment: You can either be true neutral or chaotic neutral, which limits you a bit.

Classes: No mage classes, which is unfortunate with a 23 int and 21 wis. They are the most dextrous rangers you can play, however. Warriors and bards should play similarly to elf equivalents. Healers and druids can't take advantage of the high dex. I'm not sure whether or not the high (22) charisma benefits druids with all the changes- I haven't played one since they went in.

Hometowns: They have hometowns in odd, out-of-the-way places. It's nice to recall somewhere "quiet", but it's a pain to recall somewhere that is 250mv from anything important, and unprotected by Arbies.

Combat-wise, they fight like slightly buff drow- nimble, but fragile, with an easily exploited vuln. At least Invokers can't maul you.

There's only ever about 3-4 wood-elves in Thera, so you get a chance to define a role that perhaps has not been explored so much. It's tough to make a name as a felar staff spec or arial sword spec or elf conjurer....
