The point, just in case anyone was wondering, is that once you get the hang of it you can come up with better equipment with a solo paladin (and fast) than many other classes can reasonably be expected to come up with solo ever. Can you get over a 50 damroll (for example) fast with a warrior/assassin/ranger/a-p without factoring in cabal powers and without the help of anyone else? I can't. With a paladin it's no problem. Does the fact that a paladin can be ready to seriously play while others are busy getting back on their feet make the class stronger than it initially appears? Yes.
