Nothing much to add here.

This sounds to much like Shieldbash that paladins have.

Nice Idea, unique a bit.
> Rank 31 - Soften Blow
Not sure I like this one for game balance reasons...giving warriors a way to reduce damage from mages...think of how this would work on say...a dwarf rager bloodthirsted, spellbaned, resisted...people complain about ragers now, give them a non-cabal way to reduce the ability of a well prepared mage to whup on them....?
I personally would like to see some historical shield tactics put into the game, things that were taught to Roman Centurions for nigh on 1000 years. Things like.
Shield hook
Desc: When you know you are stronger than an opponent, you can choose to try to overpower him by hooking his shield with yours, basically taking both shields out of the fight.
Game effect:Takes away shield block for both fighters, and the only way to wield something else in that hand, be it another shield or a weapon, is to let go of the shield causing it to go flying.
Chin strike.
Desc: Using manuvering to get the upper edge of your shield close to your opponents, you lunge it upwards into their chin, causing momentary muteness, with a chance at disorienting your opponent, with a much smaller chance at knocking them out.
game effect: This skill would take 2 rounds to set up, and would let you do something direclty after, not unlike the polearm's disarm thing. It would cause a momentary (1-3 round) inability to speak, with a 40% chance to stunn like a bash, and a 15% chance to knock them out.
I do think you are wrong in thinking this would not end up in some heavy pker's hands if they allowed one weapon spec skills to be used with it (I don't see how you could not).
Just the idea of having whirl/overhead/bone/cranial/dent/disembowel/ANY of the dagger specs, with a supped up defence ability of a shield spec, it would be sickening.
You would have mace and axe specs tanking like sword specs...thus taking away the tradeoff, damage for tanking.
