I see my role as an introduction to the character for the immortals, so I wrote it in a fairly conversational style, rather short (the initial entry was little more than a page). Further entries have been like brief notes in a diary, always something fairly significant in the character's life.

If I had picked a different sort of character, I could easily imagine writing the role almost as a resume. Or perhaps a statement of beliefs. Or, to use that ubiquitous business phrase, a mission statement. I agree with one of the other posts - a super long role will probably not get read, at least not read in detail. I expect my role, by the time I reach hero (if I ever do) to be fairly long, though. Maybe 6-10 screenfuls. *wince*
