I'll take a moment and stop "the Master Imms are cruel bastards" or "Viscrinth is a moron" speculation before it starts:

Few months back, Viscrinth was on his last death. He asked Twist for help. He got a loan and 3-4 months to get a certain item to pay for it. When that time was up, the bank foreclosed -- taking back nothing more than it had lent.

If Viscrinth wants you to know more'n that, he can tell you.
