I see two reasons why there are a whole slew of necros.
The main one is.....(drumroll)
Zorszaul.
Just like when Istendil was about, just like the explosion of arial sword specs when Ihlrath was blooded and sickening, just like the small explosion of a-p wannabe's(this didnt last long) when Palan was gross, Just like the explosion of trannies when Zhar and his bitch were running around(before the division of arcane and shift).
I think that explains 95% of the necros today.
For the other 5%, the reason is the same reason that skilled players play empires. For a challenge.
There are a number of different challenges; playing a hard race/class
turning good with drow/duerg
turning evil with elf
And one alot of people overlook.....
standing out in a croud of mediocrity.
This is why I rolled my current one(that and a little bit of zor..I confess), Because I saw the hordes of Necros, and realized it would be much harder to stand out and be recognized in such an ocean...thus I took the challenge.
