Train HP or Mana?

I'm a gnome transmuter, relatively new to this life. Obviously, I'm going to need Mana in the future, but having lots of HP would be good too. Which is best to train in since I'll have lots of extras? Is there a set amount of Mana or HP that you get when you train it, regardless of level? Any help'd be appreciated.
