Turn Undead

First of all, sorry if this question was brought up before, but I haven't seen it.
Second of all, no, I've never fought any Liches (yes another lich post), so I'm just asking the question.
I was just looking through the CF help files,
and came across Turn Undead. Since Liches are undead, I'm guessing the spell should work on them. No, not kill them outright, and probably not "turn" as in make them flee, but they should do decent damage? And to their undead minions?
Hopefully someone can give a constructive answer. Thanks!
