I don't understand what this obsession with hating someone simply for the reason it is the socially promoted thing to do. I'm going to preface what I'm about to say with the following, just so you understand I'm only playing devils advocate.

"I, personally, don't have any admiration or feelings of good will towards this man at all."

Now, on to the good stuff.

Why do you feel that you should demean this person who claims to admire Hitler for his leadership abilities?

Since this is a CF forum, I'm going to put this in Cf terms. Istendil was a very evil person, far more evil than the person I'm comparing him to. He personally slaughtered hundreds of people for his own gain (mostly because he wanted to play with their rotting corpses). Aside from this little hobby of his, he also lead an organization bent on world conquest (hmm... don't I remember that line from GI-Joe?). All in all, a very evil man.

Despite his great moral flaws, many of us looked up to him (I'm talking in game). I knew many knights who had a lot of respect for him, despite being his enemies.

Why is it OK for them to have respect for Istendil, but not OK to do the same in the real world?

You should also note that this poor soul you attacked did not condone Hitlers actions, rather he only said that he admired his abilities. Further, if you look objectively at what he's claiming to admire, it is somewhat of an accomplishment.

This man took one country and pitted it against the world. He convinced the others in said country that they should follow him into this war because they were the superior race. He managed to delude an entire NATION (even Clinton only deluded.. what.. 65% of us?) into mindlessly following his doctrine. Even more impressive, is that were it not for a few minor mistakes (Japan bombing Pearl Harbor, invading Russia right before winter) he probable could have concured the entire world. No one else in history has come that close to having it all.

To say you admire a man who acomplished all the above (when there are people out there who think WWF wrestlers are role models) doesn't seem to far off beat to me.

In summary, there is a large difference between saying, "I wish Hitler won the war and laid waste to the impure races!", and, "Hitler really was an amazing person."

Comprendez-vous?

...Rome...
