I'm just a bit annoyed by a trend to say that only the original implementors are worthy of the respect of mortals and the other Imms don't know what they're doing.
First off, with very slight exception all the Immortals you will ever encounter were raised from player through the ranks if Immortaldom to the rank they now hold. This includes even Implemetors. So the chances that you're working with someone who started CF are not very likely.
Second, the chances that you can figure out which Immortal you're interacting with at any point in time, unless they reveal themselves, is about 0. Even if you know a lot of the Imms very well, you're not likely to guess who is who accurately when you can't see them because we act differently when were visible to mortals.
The fact that you infer that you somehow know which Imm this was and that it wasn't Derit the Lost Lord is ludicrous, you have no frame of reference on the issue.
Most of the time I read this forum and someone blames a specific Imm for something, they've got the wrong guy.
Third, the vast majority of the Immortals have been playing for a damn long time, many since the beginning, and any of them who have the ability to be seen as An Immortal have gained the trust of the other Immortals and are watched as mortals, heros, and avatars before they ever get a chance to have the anonymity of an Immortal. Even then the Powers that Be usually moniter them for a while and make sure that they are doing what they should be. Most of the Imms have been Imms for years and just about all of them have been playing for years. There is no situation that people are Imm'd because the Imps need quick help... Its a thourough painstaking process.
Sometimes the Imm in Question will respond to something written on this board. You should be aware that there is no need to defend their actions to you. It is usually in hopes that you will be able to learn from the situation once you see the other side. To see people flame the Imms is quite sad, you see your flames can do nothing but discourage the Imm from helping out in the future or explaining themselves in hopes of making the situation more clear and thereby enhance your enjoyment of the game. If you disagree with the decision, that's fine. But bitching and moaning here is NEVER going to cause change in the way things are done. If you truly think you were abused by an Imm abusing their power, handle it in the game with a note to the Implementors, but don't be suprised if its one of them that you're actually mad at.
