I would agree, completely. Which means, basically, that transform is better than barrier (for the reasons you stated and others). Which means (therefore) that the line we've been seeing repeated over and over on the forum ad naseum (re: whine: "masters are soooo weak, we have transform and it's no better than barrier!!!") is a line of crap that the masters themselves don't believe in practice, if not in public theory.
