When the class restrictions were first placed on Sylvan, I didn’t think they were such a great idea, but later understood why since Sylvan has the BEST PK powers of any cabal in the game. Additionally, the RP of the cabal was more of a nurturing, warding role then the violence in nature.

Now, as we all know, exceptions are allowed. There are warriors, assassins, and shamans in Sylvan. Let us assume, that I am a decently skilled player with good RP and PK abilities who has had Sylvan characters in the past and wishes to make a new one. My question is this.

What reason do I have to make a “normal” sylvan?

Why would I not want to make the most powerful race/class/cabal combination that I possibly could? People like to win and will only do something that harms their chances of winning if they can reap some future reward by making such a sacrifice. RP rewards, you say? I think Quinthen put it best when he said, “People remember slayers, plain and simple. There are exceptions, but for the most part, corpses speak louder than words or deeds.”

Because of this, it’s no wonder that there seem to be more “abnormal” than “normal” sylvans right now. No real surprise the “Sylvan six”, or whatever, seem to be spending more time killing in the cities than nurturing in the forest.

When you’ve got so many exceptions to the rule, why even have the rule? Just bring on the cleansing storm of Uller, and be done with it.
