Well, if sylvan and the tower can make peace, as was unsucessfully tried a few weeks ago, then the entire political spectrum shifts. I don't think that the arbiters and entropists really fit into this breakdown either, both of those cabals have their own agendas that should discourage such alliances. Arbiters more than other cabals have a very static goal which would discourage more than momentary alliances. Entropists well...they don't funtion as a whole. As far as the in-cabal politics go, the alliance between empire and masters is pretty thin, many masters want to break it, especially since there are large numbers of elves in the tower. However, they can't as they are facing two very powerful enemies already. Basically, the present cabal system is much better than what there was in the past, when there were 6 cabals set of into three groups of opposing two's. It was boring really, compared to what there is now. Presently, because of a long period of evolution, entropists no longer function as anti- arbiters. Masters would rather see the battle ragers just go away, or leave them alone. sylvan clashes with the empire and the masters on ideological grounds, but they are not clearly JUST an anti- empire cabal. The scarabs and dawn and troupe are all very unique. Basically, the only cabal which is negatively defined at present is the battle ragers who are strictly an anti- mage and therefore anti- tower cabal. I would love to see the battle ragers changed into something else, as they seem to me to be the last remnant of a dated cabal war system, and as many have pointed out seem to fufill the function of counterbalancing the masters. The masters powers have changed such that they are now more what one would expect from a group of students. I was excited when i had heard that the battle ragers powers had changed, save for the fact that almost every rager i see is a berserker, and i have seen only a couple scouts, and as far as i know, no defenders. At the very least i have never seen defender powers being used.
