Geez. Is this your issue with roleplaying in CF? Roleplaying in CF is pretty awful, I mean, if you're looking at it as a roleplaying mud. I don't know if I'd start by trying to abolish 'elven time'.

Maybe I'd start with required roles, and required dialogue between the killed and the killer, even if it's banal. SOME dialogue, not necessarily verbal, or some indication that there's a reason behind every murder. I admit, I usually just mow through (or get mown through by) some colorflag enemy and neither of us say anything because there's just this general feeling that it's pointless.

Make less penalties for changing your char's path, and encourage interaction to have some meaningful effect, possibly. Maybe allow quested guild changes at severely reduced rank. Quested align changes without crippling loss of skills OR unduely extended immortal torture.

Power that's not gained through spamming, but by questing, or as reward for noticed interaction and activity. EVERYONE in CF is 'sorry, no, practicing' for a minimum of ten hours to a maximum of... ungodly amounts of time, this doesn't encourage roleplaying in any way shape or form.

I don't know if I'd really start with conforming tells. I guess your heart's in the right place, though....
