> People have been working on chars for weeks, if they are doing a rager applicant properly, mastering their skills and rping the role they have already in mind.
> Now maybe some of them have been rping a char that can be a defender, fine no problem there. But I have seen many characters whose backgrounds and rp, including some of my past ones, who cannot help but choose to be a berserker. They are those who have a fiery hatred deep within them that guides them and to try and take this from them will destroy the character. I used to play Aurstal, rager thief, follower of Radickon, driven solely by rage into combat. I thoroughly enjoyed this character, and it seemed those I interacted with did as well, but when the restructuring came I did not fully understand the differences between the different subdivisions, so I chose a scout, thinking thief scout it works out eh?
> Wrong.
> It was completely wrong for Aurstal's rp, I hated when I would play him after that because he had become a joke, the scout was too much of an observer, too much overall recanaissance in my mind to fit into his role, I tried for several weeks to fix this within his role, but found it impossible after the many hours I had already put into it. I had to let him autodelete. Now this was my own fault for not realizing how far out of character it was for him to go scout. He still was a very strong character, and in fact never did die after becoming a scout, but it just didnt fit into the rp, and as it was my mistake I can see how its acceptable.
> Now to tell people that if they will not be defenders then their dedication is to be questioned is just bullsh*t. This is coming from Dhaevor who is a Berserker, if you feel the only ones who truly serve the Village are Defenders, then petition the gods to make you one. Otherwise how can your dedication not be challeneged? It is hypocritical in the extreme, and it is counterproductive to rp. A person's path in the village should be chosen based upon their rp and decisions they make. It is their character, their decisions find how they fit within the cabal and define that character.
> Its a bit long, but hey I think this is all pretty ridiculous, and I dont even have a character within the process of joining, but I do not wish to see battle suffer and people's ideas for characters ruined for absolutely nothing wrong on their part.
