You figure a bunch of guys just got together and were bored one day
so they decided to kill for no reason? Ever think they might have
been trying to feed and clothe themselves and their families? Ever
think they had a motive other than the fun of slitting someone's throat?
Ever wonder how the over taxing of the peasants and minor merchants
lead to outlaw groups? How about the idea of a man who can't put food
on the table for himself let alone any of his family and has no way
of ever getting out of that hole using means within the law? And if
despair isn't a good enough motive how about the concept of rebellion?
A group of men band together to show they will no longer be pushed around
by the local government. All happened in history. All were valid reasons.
The mindless killing you speak of... might have happened, but try finding
something to back it up. Perhaps a historical text which states something
like, "The men killed because they had nothing better to do." Find that
and then talk about mindless pkers throughout history.
