Pincer against an unprepared mage will make quick work of them. Axes do not parry as well so against a warrior you will take alot of hits. Also whirl is unlikely to cause them to lose their weapon. Boneshatter will plus it slows them down a lot making them easier to hit. Cranial is nice for mages but not as good a pincer.
