Having played both human and felar rangers pretty extensively, I can offer this advice:

Felars get enourmous hit points and are difficult to hit because of their dex. However, their low strength can be a hassle. They do however, benefit most from the ranger staff (felars can get extra claw attacks with it). A felar's biggest problem are water and fire attacks. Prot heat/cold mitigates the fire problem but does not help with water.

Humans are perhaps the best all around rangers. (I have one now) Prot heat/cold gives them some resistance vs fire/cold attacks, and with some decent damage gear, you'll hit like a bastard. (A rank 15 ranger should have no problem getting a set of gear with 15-25 damroll). Remember to use axes (harder for most classes to parry) and whips (lash is not so bad and until you get snare, its the only way to lag your opponent)

Now, if anyone has something to add.... :) by all means. Do so.

Rangers are alot of fun to play.. perfect your defenses before PK ranks, stay in the woods, and use your skills to advantage.

> I've never played a ranger, they look like alot of fun so I'm going to role one up but I really don't have a clue as to what makes the best ranger. I've got it narrowed sown to a Human or a Cloud Giant. Humans are great because there is that low exp cure, they have good int so learning isn't a bitch, not to mention they have ok dex for dodgeing. I believe thier str can be 23 so that's good, but they cannot weild two handed weapons like those nifty axes.
> Clouds are slow as a turlte to train, not to mention they're as about a agile as a thumback. they have great str and con, not too mention they can weild those great two handed axes with a shield but is the Learining curve, lack of dexterity and EXP curve worth the trade? Please help me out...
