w-elves, h-elves are a wash. The iron thing is a pain and unless you plan on going into a cabal that requires a lot mental exertion, the mana is a waste. The fact is, rangers just don't use mana that much. Entangle becomes the biggest energy drain and I find using it once in combat sufficient. Otherwise, lore?.

I find humans and cloud giants to be the most fun. The two handed issue mentioned above. The only thing I don't like about cloud giants, is your vul to positive/negative attacks and poisons/plagues etc etc. Training a cloud giant may be slow... but with a little effort, not much of a problem. Majority of my skills were mastered a very long time ago. With an int of 16. And once your at hero level, cloud giants have maybe half the range that a human would. due to the exp penalty. Personally... I've always loved cloud giants because of the flying and the two handed swords/axes. Of course, if you plan on being entropic and constantly using your mind, the extra mana from a human might help. regardless, Felars are so very weak, but they do get the dual wield with ranger staff. (I really wish they'd put that back to an exotic.) Oh well... hope I helped.
