Offensive majors take hits for SHIT! Sure they can do alot of damage, but when you cannot live long enough to do enough, there is no point. And yes I have played one. I would say for strickly exploring go air major water minor. You are covered to explore most areas and can get in and out of jams really quick. That is if you want a muter. I have seen bards do ALOT of living through sick odds too, so they are always a good choice.
