Would depend on a number of things.

let us assume both have full preps. Non-rager-non-cabal.

Who starts? if assassin gets strangle off, he can blind/poison/dart...this gives him quite an advantage...

If the Fire giant doesnt miss a bash, the assassin dies every time.

If the assassin gets a good kans(thus disarming the dual wield/lowering an already low dex) the assassin has a real good chance.

If I was the giant, my tactic would be to keep him bashed, period.

If I was the assassin, I have to be smart.

1) Do you go for lowering the str/perhaps disarming him of kot and kans? thus giving him another 2 rounds to start the bash thing?

2) do you go for throw/ground control to keep him from bashing, and just hope you can parry his axes and do more damage than he...

As an assassin, I would definately have extra swords incase of weaponb...and I would start the fight with one weapon and shieldblock to help me stop some of those attacks while I work on kans.

Of course...I have not had a ranking post-change assassin...nor a giant axe spec since my rager pre-diversification....

In the end it comes down to luck. Even perfect skills will fail...sometimes often...if both chars play smart, and have eq on par, then it comes down to who's skills work and who is unlucky.
