Asihara doesn't do well at all. In fact, and I'm not just being biased because I don't like Asihara, which I don't, but he really doesn't play well. I won't point out the mistakes, because they're really really obvious to anyone whose played an invoker. You're right, there isn't that much to invokers. However..great defensive shields and offensive spells isn't quite accurate. Invokers shields don't cut it for sole damage reduction, wands are a necessity. And offensive spells are decent, but half your enemies (speaking from the point of view of a master) have spellbane and the other half have ways they can protect themselves.
