I've never tried again after the first encounter trying to play a healer as I couldn't seem to meet my Imm at all. Either he/she didn't know about me, or the note sending sucks or I'm just not good enough. And throughout, I thought empowerment stinks. That was in the past.
I decided to do so again lately and this is my first empowered character I've played in 2 years since being on CF. Am I overjoyed and it rocks. Used to think Imms didn't care about your character, but now, I believe Imms take a note of your character the first time you pray and they watch you. Not only that, the part of having a ROLE is so COOL! as now, the Imms can see your character for who he/she is without asking so much questions and you telling your life story again and again. They can then focus questions about your views in life and sphere.
Cheers to the ROLE command. It is a new breakthrough in CF.
In the begining, I thought empowerment sucks as I have to be 'interview' before I get a character, but the powers that come with it are unique to each class. Therefore, I believe the Imms want players to be careful in playing out their characters to spread their religon and not some power hungry freaks. You guys don't know the time I spent thinking about my character, the story evolving upon him and how he thinks. I spent more time thinking about what he wants to do and grow from there than just ranking up and perfecting my skills/supps. To let in more, I didn't even practice parry at all. Of course at high ranks, the skills was perfected through natural combat, not beating up some kobolds, etc.
I agree that empowered characters are more for mature players and realised a lot of mistakes I've made with the first one. I was empowered even before rank 10 for this new character.

Thanks for the time you take to note each character who prays to you. Thanks for the ROLE command, best thing ever created.
For players who want to be empowered :
Spent time investing in your character - his life, his views and thoughts. His reactions to situations and such. The Imms do take note and I don't think they want to spoil your fun on CF.
For players who have been empowered :
You know the joy when the power comes. :) Somehow, I just want to play another empowered character after this one heros.
