When I first started I learned Galadon first because it is the center of everything. It is a nice, easy point to learn off of. Ie most directions are given from center market square. It is probably the most newbie friendly city in all of Thera. Not much you can do to get killed by an agro mob, lots of neat little shops, lots of people to interact with, and yeah it is really close to alot of newbie ranking/adventuring. I for one would like to see more cities opened up for hometowns for more races. I mean as a drow you only get Galadon, New Thalos, and Arkham. I really wouldn't mind some more succluded cities being added to that list and the same for other races. As for someone's post, I think he was talking about being a thief. It is always nice to have a wide variety of people to steal from and is never a problem in a town like Galadon. As for me, the only time I would make a character with the hometown Galadon would be for rp reasons. I try to avoid that damn town like the plauge now. Hard to catch me just "hanging" around downtown Galadon.
