My thought was that the IMM then has to do a lot of work. It might be better to have a "standard" penalty coded, so that the IMM just types the one command to change the character's alignment, and it's done. There would be some other command to change their alignment without penalty, in exceptional cases.

The option could (and should) still exist for more ambitious IMMs to take matters into their own hands, and assign a "custom" penalty.
