The introduction of the role command seems to have affected people in one of two ways:

1) "Oh joy, yet another way for the immortals to screw me over"
"Do I *have* to do this?"

2) "Cool! Now I don't have to worry about explaining what I'm doing over and over!"
"About time I had a way to express what my character is about."

The fact is, the people in #2 actually *enjoy* roleplaying. If you didn't think to yourself "this role command is cool," then why are you even playing this game?
