After conjurers were implemented it was huge rush of newly rolled conjurers.
Nightgaunts were overpowered and worked incorrectly so some changes were made.
Interest to them slowly dropped and only people who liked conjurers stack with them.
I did not roll one until recently but finally decided to check what is it to be conjurer.
I rolled up, ranked till 17th, got my pet.
Until this moment it was boring as hell.
Perfected magic missile on 11th rank, faerie fire on 17th.
Got 'bad' familiar and thought about deleting my conjurer.
But before I would do it I thought to get some more fun and decided to go teleporting.
I did it during 2 hours. That was amazing. I died only once and just because some skunk tracked dire wolf to the entrance of Udgaard.
(Last times it was drow patroller, Lord Nazgul and wraiths). I hate when somebody specially does it to mob kill people.
Well what I did : teleported and walked around until I've recognized the area I was in.
Run in couple mobs but all was fine. But soon after I've realized I have a free explorer with me.
So I used my little pet to run around instead of his lazy master.
I explored white cloak's encampment (why these guys are agro to goodies ? Me Darkfriend ? hmm), spiderwood, whistlewood and dark forests and Keep of Barovia with him.
Checked Dying demon and several other DT-mobs for equipment. It was really fun to do.
Also I had a interaction with very special person. Thought about posting it on log forum but decided against it. May be in a couple months. It really shows what can you do with familiar.
I noticed only 3 annoying things about familiars :
1) You could not order them to show exits. (Your familiar can't do it.) Why ?
2) My familiar could not open normal doors or pass them. But I guess it is suppose to be so.
3) And I could not get any status report from it (besides look self) or opponent during fight. Not very convinient.
Besides that I really enjoyed playing my little guy.
IMMs (Scarab and who else)! You did amazing work with conjurers.
