Please bear with me as I tell a story...I swear it'll relate to CF! In real life I have a job that, as I get more time and experience I am given more freedom to do my job without someone looking over my shoulder at everything I do. I'm purposely not saying what I do because it probably doesn't matter. I'm sure most of you have a job that could be described the same way. However, that "babysitting" has gone to the point where us "inexperienced" are hindered from even doing our jobs. Do we whine about it? I can't lie and say we don't but we do it behind closed doors with our friends. When we're at work, what do we do? We work harder to get that magical label of being "experienced." We play by the rules because that's the only thing we can do, otherwise I might as well get another job. And I'm not about to do that cause even with the crap I deal with everyday, it's still the best job in the world.
How many people reading this, if you can even understand my train of thought, have jobs where the company or your boss creates rules that are unfair? Or have wives or husbands or parents or teachers that are unfair? I'd be willing to bet everyone.
So finally my relation to CF...LIFE IS NOT FAIR! Why do you think anything in CF should be fair? "Oh I got beat down by a Svirf warrior...they're overpowered." "Oh some [sword/spell] does to much damage, it's unfair!" "Oh, some immortal (insert: anathed, deleted, picked on,made me a ridiculous title, turned me into a bunny rabbit]" "Everyone in [Insert cabal name] cheats, why don't the imms do something!" Wha. We are talking about an imperfect computer program, run by imperfect people, played by imperfect people. And I don't give a s*** about how awesome you think you are at this game, or how "right" you feel about some topic (Empire Laws...) It seems to me that you can either a)play the game and appreciate all the good things about it, b)feed your ego by going somewhere else, c)give some CONSTRUCTIVE ideas to immortals, or d)spend the time it takes to actually code something and offer it to the imms. Next time, right before you hit the "Post Message" button below, think about how you would feel if some jacka** called YOU a moron and said everything about something you've spent 100's of hours working on was a pile of s***.
Enjoy the game and when you think you just got screwed by some player or some Imm, then either play from there, or start over and try to be better this time. And before you start whining about how many hours it took to advance some character, I really don't care, and I don't think many other people will either. Life is not fair.
One last thought, on a positive note. Thank you to all the Imms that spend time building CF. Thank you to all the players that give helpful advice on this forum, or in the game, and make CF a fun experience (even all you evil-types that keep trying to kill my good-types). Wow, first I felt like an a** for flaming, now I feel like a brown-noser for thanking people. Whatever.
