First a necro should not be your first mage, try a conjurer or a transmuter instead.

But if you really want to play a necro..

perfect sleep is always a good start, never stay in a fight that you did not start.

and you must know, ranking will be a bitch.

But they are also among the best, if not the best killers on the mud as soon as you have learned them.
