I can think of one example where this happened. So it's possible, but Extremely Rare. If you "have not had much rp with immortals", this might be too challenging for your first time around.

My take: Well, your race doesn't teach certain skills. It's possible you started out doing one thing, and picked up another profession along the way. It's also possible you just grew up in a very different society. Either way, the practical way to -try- is to start as one class, hone your role/description/RP to perfection, and pray. Again, this is the type of event that will be Very Rare, so don't expect success unless you have all your ducks in a line, and then some. If you pull it off, more power to you.
