Duergars are among the better races and Arials are the best in my opinion. Negatively, they are vulnerable to holy attacks and drowning. I've seen good duergar warriors with whips and polearms. To sum up,
Arial - sword, dagger, spear, staff
Duergar - sword, whip, mace, polearm, dagger, axe
Giants - mace, polearm, axe
Jack's .02 cents worth.
