plain stupid. I see several reasons not to do so :

1) You lose a char you like.
If you didn't like it, why make a new one like it or make one in the first place.

2) 40k hole is nothing, nothing nothing. It can be made in 3-4 hours. Little time compared with the 24h spend until now. Also this time can be spend perfecting you weapons. Don't give a fuck if your group complain about you using a hammer instead of a dagger. Perfecting all weapons, at least all one-handed, is a thing you have to do anyway.

3) The Hellkite thing makes your char unique, use it in you role and in your future gameplay. Tell people what happened, explain why you did what you did (and no, not say : OOC I was killed by the hellkite, and need xp).

4) The people you know from the first 24 hours will likely look for you, and be glad to group with you again. After all you are pass the shitty 15-25 where all the newbie-killers hangs out. So getting into a group is not impossible.

There might be more reasons, but these I came up with right on. Never have I deleted because of a xp-hole, but I sure have deleted many out of boredom with the char. If you are to lazy to dig out 40k, another char like this one will be very boring.
