Perhaps, but I think he was refering to the fact that I actually do have wings of silver flame and have lived for around 500 or so years. *shrug* See it however you want.

Think of it this way:
Young child wanders up to Merlin on the street...and flips Merlin off. Merlin looks at the child and ignores him, and goes back to remembering what it was like being and old man. The child then starts taunting Merlin telling him he's a hack and not a real magician. Merlin rolls his eyes and prays to the Lady of the Lake to help him keep his patience (see earlier in the day Lancelot rode off with Guinevere...and Arthur has been pacing and calling for war, Merlin's got a lot on his mind.) So the child keeps at it...Merlin finally gets aggravated and with a flick of his wrist, there is now a very annoying toad hopping along the roads, sticking his tongue out in a very rude manner to passing flies. Merlin, meanwhile continues to ponder.
Morale of the story? Don't piss of creatures/people/entities/etc of power that can make life miserable for you. In character don't you think that someone is going to show a bit of respect to the Enforcer when they're a young adventurer fresh from thier guildhall? Too often people abuse the fact that 1) mobs are 95% of the time non sentient...so that when they become sentient they don't consider that the other mobs should probably (AT LEAST at that point, considered as sentient as well) 2) the fact that we have pk ranges....I remember seeing a level 5 mage cast armor on one of the leaders of the Village long ago, and while it was amusing to a degree...as far as roleplaying went...it was horrid. Since were that to happen in some pocket realm where Thera was real life (and people played thier crystal balls to drive to work and make cash to buy food and better cars) the Rager leader would've thumped the mage without thinking. (end rant)

See my above Merlin and the Annoying Toad story.
