it was changed do to coding problems concerning the saving of the items and the stats of the new pet. As I recall it the problem was the Pet keep the Hit/Dam but not the Eq, when you quite. Then you could log back in and give it a full set of Snowworm/quite/snowworm ect. This led to overpowered Pets, that made an archon look like a goblin.
