Yes, let us. I'll speak slowly, and use small words for you, Arolin.:

Another friend also created a cf clone called Darkmists and we saw muds from a more mechanical point of few from then on.
> So, like others, when things like irc comes, and 2 people have information they can share, they share it. Its like if you put a cake in front of your nose, you are going to eat it. Its human instinct.

Of course, if someone told me: "That is a cake I paid for, please don't eat it!".... I wouldn't eat it. Instinct is a lame excuse. The IMMs pay for the cake, and you try to wreck it for them by eating it. Funny, a lot of other people manage to not eat the cake.

> The reason why i can live with myself sharing information is i have learnt all the stuff i wanted to learn by myself.

Bullshit. "Me and my friends" is in the second sentence above. Looking at the code of a CF clone is above as well. All of this is trying to wrap your tiny mind around information that other players do not have. It's symptomatic of your whole CF problem- you try to make up for lack of talent with cheating.

> Cf in the second age was 10million times better than it is now.

Then there are plenty of tinkered-together half-ass MUDs you could go and play. I never could figure out why (given your limited faculties) you choose to play a MUD where RP is stressed.

> Now its more complicated and more imbalanced.

More imbalanced? Huh?

> In fact, you are at a serious disadvantage if you dont exchange knowledge on irc. Any knowledge that goes by irc is what the imms already inherently have. Its usually the imms mortals we talk about. Because its usually the imms mortals that are hard to kill. *THESE* imms hate irc because they lose their advantage.

That's funny... I don't use info on IRC and I do OK.

> Take a look at the smug char list posted a few days ago,

I did and thought: "Wow. With all they've played, I really thought the characters would be better." It was a long list of characters with little lasting impact on CF, with only a few standouts, who were not played by you.

> no doubt other sites have similiar size lists. Now, the point is, levelling is already boring for your first char. Imagine how boring it can get after lots and lots of chars.

Of course, I don't try to level with the same two people every time. Maybe that's why it's so boring for you- nothing to talk about with Palan and Tamuera after 100+ consecutive hours grouped together.

> Now, imagine not even being able to get a group!!

Again, I don't seem to have that problem. Sometimes, there's no one compatible in range, so I go practice. But most of the time, I can cobble to gether an appropriate group, within the constraints of my character.

> Sorry, but if you dont resort to irc, then you must like that carrot up your ass.

Or I'm capable enough to do OK without resorting to cheating. One of the two.

> From a distant point of view, i would say that irc and the forum ruins cf.

The Forum is not inherently bad for CF, and may well be good for it. All information is publicly disclosed, so you can't use it for things the IMMs don't want you to. Some people abuse it, which is why the VIP staff has been picking up the pace on deleting posts and denying idiots. Well, most of the idiots.

> Obviously blatant cheating will occur. The imms cant do anything about irc. They could put pressure on dio to stop the forum, but they can police the forum somewhat. If it was gone, even more people would go to irc.

Actually, the IMMs could just up and leave, and turn off the box. They have incredible patience dealing with a ton of assholes who would love nothing more than to ruin the game they create. And you, by all accounts, are the king of those assholes, despite being of rather limited brainpower.

> Icq is neally as bad as irc, i have been invited to 10+chat rooms of all cf players before.

Finally, you say something that makes sense. Guess how many CFers have my ICQ number?

> Having said irc is bad, IT IS THERE, how can you resist it. YOU CANT!

Two years running, actually. CF isn't rocket science, Arolin. It's a challenge, but once you learn to find things out without someone leading you by the hand, it's not so hard. Rather fun, actually. Even ranking, with the right group. I'm not the best player out there, but I do fine.

> All you can do is deny to yourself that you actually cheat there. I do not make this claim.

I'll make it clear for you, Arolin: Not everyone has the desire to cheat at a game.

And by the way, stop asking on IRC "Who does Proud Blade play?" Surprisingly, you won't get an answer. (Try to guess why.) But people will email me, and make fun of you, and continue to think of you as a petty little ingrate.

If you aren't still playing, what the hell motivates you to post on the Forum and hang around IRC? Nah, you're still playing.
