You do have a map when you start off so you could say that you read it, if purely from a r-p point of view. I'm afraid I have to agree with Grallon's post. If you consider Princess Renee, she is good... Helping her is helping a good person, rescuing an elf is a good deed, and the elf himself is a goody. Why in the world would any evil person help Renee to begin with. She doesn't mention a reward, not even a hint if I am not mistaken. I sympathize with evils who would like these boots but personally, I avoid that part of the quest like the plague when I am playing an evil character.

Just my 2 and 1/2 cents.
