There have been many great Empires over histroy and a few in fiction.

Lets take the most famous(perhaps?).

The Roman Empire... When it spread through out the Middle East and the Mediterranean it was very well known. For its nice shiny armour and helmets to there red capes. Even there hair, speech and there common clothes would have given them away as well as their battle techniques.

Though CF Imperials come from all around Thera and I believe would generally have some garb identifying them as citizens of Thera. You also have to remember that the Palace far above Balator would be many days travel from Galadon realistically so the culture would be different. It would have its own type of common dress and its own style of hair cut. Also from emersion in their language and culture, chances are Imperials from other lands would begin to speak in a similar tongue (not exactley but a slight accent might appear). I totally agree with Proud Blade in that the Empires ways would be more subtle behind the scenes of the strong Government. But generally they would show themselves as being a massive army not just to intimidate players but what about the locals and their fears of the Empire. Sterotypical example: The jews when the saw the soldiers riding on horse back coming into town with their red capes flowing. They would be paying taxes to them etc...

There is another point of view you could take and that is that the centurions are the army and they're the ones that act a like and their dress is common, where citizens are above this. I believe though with a citizen the point is as above with emersion. I think people would also begin to know who Senator Julius was, as he would be well known to the general populace of the lands or at least in the cities in that area one would think.

I believe the Empire should be marked for the reasons above, more so then any Dawnite anyway...
