You can think of the shrine guardian as trying to send me a tell, except it can always see me if I'm on.
A few general empowerment comments while I'm posting:
1) All 53+ immortals will see your prays regardless of whether or not your immortal's name is in the pray somewhere.
2) As a result of 1), if you pray the exact same thing every minute, someone is going to come hurt you sooner or later.
3) As hinted at in 1), you kinda want to avoid using a macro or trigger to periodically pray the exact same thing. This is extremely obvious if you have mispellings and especially typos in a long pray. I see this at least once in any day I can be on for more than a few minutes.
4) If you do try to contact your immortal, either by contacting one of the shrine guardians that work like mine, or by praying, do not quit, walk away, or (generally) sleep within the next five minutes. You don't have to stick around for an hour, but give us a few minutes. I would estimate that one out of every three times someone prays for me to empower them from my shrine, by the time I can do some quick checking, such as checking their sphere and description, they're gone. I don't read slowly, honest.
