Scrolls.
Thieves can use scrolls to spell people up once they've got them jacked. Obtainable in mass quantities at fairly low level are scrolls to slow, curse, and blind. With a bit more creativity you can plague, poison, weaken, and a few other nasty things.
You don't like it when a thief jacks and binds your shaman, because you're worried sanc might fall before you can wake and word? Now imagine if he weakens you so you drop your weapon, curses you, blinds you, slows you, and steals your potions of transporation, and THEN dual BSs you....
Not only does this add more variety to the class, but it's also really, really nasty. I'm amazed I've yet to see thieves who make use of this vast realm of possible nastiness.
