Also remember that roleplaying their religion is
every immortal's roleplaying outlet, and for many
of us, can be one of the most enjoyable and
rewarding experiences of being an immortal. While
immortals creating new religions do keep in mind
the balance of spheres, and try to pick some untaken
ones, the bottom line is that the player of said
immortal enjoy the role they are about to commit
to.
Also keep in mind, as another immortal pointed out,
many cases of two gods sharing the same sphere
are entirely different aspects of that sphere.
Sometimes if a concept is different enough, a
god taking a sphere can open up that sphere for
a number of characters who could normally never
have a patron god for that sphere, due to alignment,
ethos, concept, or whatever. Don't get me wrong,
you will notice evil gods empowering good characters,
or vice versa, if religion allows it, but some
immortal concepts are very specific in only
convering one aspect of a sphere, as in Shokai's
Destruction vs. Scarabaeus' Destruction, or
Vilhazarog's Death vs. Amaranthe's Death.
